Topics :: A Groundbreaking Podcast Explores PnP / Chemsex; 5 Habits We All Have That Can Cause Brain Damage - And Where We Start In Life Has Nothing To Do With Where We End Up

HEAR HERE :: Trigger warning: The second half of this episode is a discussion about recreational drug use to enhance sexual experience - some may find it triggering. The conversation is also intended for adult audiences only. If you or someone you care about need to talk about substance use, in Canada call 1-800-463-2338. In the US call 1-844-511-5044.

Our latest episode brings aboard three of the people behind a leading-edge new podcast called Chemstories, which you can find wherever you get your aural pleasures. The podcast explores the central question: Why is it important for people with lived experience of PnP (party and play) / chemise to tell their stories in their own words?

Information and ideas we get about drug use are usually from people who are anti-drug, or former users. Because this podcast sheds light on user experiences - and very often the good value they find in using recreational drugs - Chemstories is an impressive, groundbreaking and honest endeavour, where ideas are articulated that bust stigma, and challenge societal norms and thinking.

If you are a recreational drug user, or love someone who is and want to understand more, this episode’s frank, no-holds barred two-part conversation with principal investigator Olivier Ferlatte, Toronto host Bradley Hampton-Wallis, and podcast guest, the legendary Mikiki is a must listen / must share.

Host, host, guest. Toronto Chemstories host Bradley Hampton-Wallis (l), yours truly, and Chemstories guest Mikiki after our wild and wonderful taping.

Also this episode, meet Ed Haiim, an 89-year old man who rose from a brutally traumatic childhood - that saw him living in an orphanage at one point - to rule boardrooms and enjoy a life of many successes. Ed’s now teaching teens and college students that where you start in life has no bearing on where you can end up. The segment is a wonderful reminder of the power each of us has to rise above our circumstances and achieve great things. (How Ed has the energy to hang with teenagers I have no idea.)

Lastly, a segment for anyone with a brain. There are five things that you do, and that I do that can cause permanent brain damage if we continue doing them and neurologist Dr. Jeremy M Liff joins us to break them down.

Enjoy the listen.
